BlackBerry Torch 9800 Quick Review
I see that today’s, BlackBerry Torch 9800 is become the hot gadgets around USA. This new RIM’s Sliding Device is already released with exclusive contract with AT&T network Services. This new BlackBerry Torch 9800 will have the OS 6 installed as the Operating System. So how about this gadget performance?
On BoyGeniusReport.com, they have explained a quite long explanation about this gadget. In a single review they have posted some features that BlackBerry Torch 9800 has. I’d like to make their post to be a recommendation for you to read, but meanwhile I would like to summarize their point on this BlackBerry Torch 9800 Quick Review.
Design
It’s solid, heavy and Bulky; it’s very well manufactured and looks high end. Glossy Budget-conscious plastic for the casing, large screen display with the Touch Screen Feature along with chrome surrounding it. It’s more look like an Android to me.
But there are some negative points on the Display as its larger then the previous series. You will see that the Text is pixelated with low quality images, and it’s always need to zooming the browser to see more clearly. The Touch screen is also having some wonkiness especially when you using the Phone Call and Touch screen keyboard, but could it be a Software problems? Hmm, RIM needs to explain it.
The track pad is using the latest Bold 9700 track pad which is easier then the roll pad at the previous bold. The keyboard is very candy with fully QWERTY buttons, its looks easier to write with it.
The microUSB port location is changed to the lower left side and some says that is a minus for the design. The 3.5mm headset Jack and “UP/DOWN” are also rearranged to the upper right side of the phone.
BlackBerry OS 6
BlackBerry operating system 6 isn’t an overhaul of the BlackBerry OS, and while it brings a couple API-level changes, it’s mostly top layer UI modifications.
The 5 mega pixel Camera with Auto Focus and LED Light is having more improvement then the 3.2 Mega pixels, but it still more weak then other handset. Even when using it on capturing a video, this camera is poor then the iPhone 4 and Motorola Droid X.
Battery
As the RIM is the leader on SmartPhones power optimizer, this BlackBerry Torch is no exception in that regard. No question for this issue.
Hardware
When we go to the internal components, The BlackBerry Torch 9800 is using single Marvell 624MHz Processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB Internal Storage, a 5 Mega pixel Auto focus Camera with LED flash. This Gadget is design for Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and Tri-band UMTS/HSDPA 3.6Mbps network. It is also have a GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi of course.
Conclusion
BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a good (not the best) Smartphones with a High-End design. More features added, but you would needs more time to expose the phone. For BB users, it will make you more fun in using it especially with the Touch Screen features. Although this gadget leads the long life consuming power but its still have some minor points on the design and performances.
For new user, I think the Bold 9700 is more user friendly then Torch, but for you that always want a brand new and updated Gadget, this BlackBerry Torch 9800 is a piece of art that you wanted to explore.
Oh by the way, BlackBerry Torch 9800 price is $200 with a two-year contract from AT&T network.
