Happy 25th anniversary for “dot com” domain

Technology has evolved much in the world of the Internet. Every day hundreds of websites popping up with various domain registered. Own dot com domain name is the first in the world of the Internet to replace the IP of a host to more easily remember.

Symbolics.com, is the first domain name registered with the TLD dot com, is the website of a software company and the MIT research. Symbolics first registered as a domain name through Network Solutions, a firm registration. Since then, Symbolics.com purchased by XF.com a domain internet investment firm in 2009. Currently, Symbolics become a blog of XF.com.

The 25th birthday of dotcom comes only five days after the 10th anniversary of the dotcom bubble bursting officially.

It was announced last week that another site, sex.com, which at one point was the most expensive website in the world, is set to go up for auction, with starting bidding at $ 1 million. The domain name was last bought in 2006 for a reported $ 14 million.
