Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3 Review
Lenovo IdeaPad S10-3, Thinner with Sweet Design
One of the products on display at the mat Lenovo Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in 2010 and now present in Indonesia. IdeaPad S10-3 that is present even thinner with a sweet design.
At first glance, S10-3 does have a pretty nice shape than the previous series. Netbook appears equipped with an elegant design wrapped in a brushed metal side.
From the processor, Lenovo has included S10-3 at ‘party’ held Pine Trail Intel. Processor Intel Atom N450 which has a better claim than the series S10, or S10-2 earlier. Even for multi-tasking activities office class.
Design: Slim Attractive, Comfortable Keyboard, Touchpad Smooth
The first impression when I saw this netbook, is a more elegant shape and sweet from the previous S10. If S10 and S10-2 predominantly white, S10-3 now comes with a combination of black and dark brown.
From the weight and thinness, S10-3 is belonging to the thin netbook, if compared to series Acer Aspire One, MSI, or HP mini note. 6 cell batteries also do not appear prominent as the HP mini-note or MSI. Unfortunately when shaken, a little less solid parts on the side between the battery and the body.
To the cover, S10-3 consists of a combination of plastic material with Cora brushed metal on the keyboard. Then the back of the monitor is now covered in the design of small boxes – arrange like Bali motif fabrication – which appears bright, if there is light that bounces. Coupled with LED backlit panels that are cool in our eyes. Very beautiful and comfortable.
Keyboard & Touchpad
For the keyboard, it seems Lenovo S10 is also typical of previous overhaul. Now with chiclet-style keyboard, S10-3 more responsive felt far if used for typing than the previous S10 series. When we used for quick typing, this keyboard reads ‘print-shallow’. In general, S10-3 keyboard feels relieved than other netbooks due to design in full-size.
One again the most interesting of these netbooks are Touchpad. Lenovo has changed the overall look of the touchpad becomes more simple. Right-click the panel and the left, have now sunk into one with touchpad, wrapped in brushed metal motif slippery.
By design, it looks interesting. But unfortunately, when used to perform drag & drop in a file, this device was slippery. When we try, this new design actually feels weird. Because the key left and right-click the hard, seem less responsive.
Performance: a booming voice, Batteries Not Disappointing
In testing, we trying to work with Wi-Fi switch, with the default setting of this netbook until it die. Result, the IdeaPad S10-3 able to survive in duration of about 5 hours. Did not disappoint.
For other needs such as YouTube to watch streaming full HD, as well as doing multi-tasking office, IdeaPad S10-3 far more smoothly than previous S10-2. This is all because the latest Intel Atom processor N450, a 1GB of RAM memory.
Like his cousin IdeaPad S10-3t, this netbook has a maximum resolution of 1024 x 600. When tested by me for browsing, typing with Microsoft Office, while listening to the file. Mp3, netbook is running quite smoothly.
Unfortunately this laptop a little body was warm, though the design of air circulation under the body appears evenly. When typing it’s for about 2 hours, for some reason your palms a little hot. This could be because the design is made of brushed metal rather than plastic. In this case IdeaPad S10-2 is colder.
Louder sound with Dolby Certification
Throughout testing we ever done, perhaps IdeaPad S10 netbook-3 including the audio quality above average. With Dolby certification has, treble voice and vocal music format. Mp3, now much more ‘out’. So does his bass.
Not satisfied with that, trying to maximize all us audio volume settings S10-3. The result was predictable. The sound of music. Mp3 is out it is not broken. If still not satisfied with the quality of audio, users can plug headphones, to get the better voice.
Conclusion:
Now, the question that arises is the appropriate user who uses IdeaPad S10-3 is? Based reference we, Lenovo loyal customers surely must use these products as their second PC.
User IdeaPad S10 previous series who want to upgrade their netbook, no need to switch brands. Netbook worth USD 3.9 million is now going to create loyal customers becomes more loyal Lenovo.
In general, S10-3 is also suited for the student and the student, or bloggers who have a high mobility. The reason is very simple thin design to be stored in a bag. Plus chiclet keyboard sound and sweet, this netbook is interesting to have. Pros:
+ Slim and attractive design
+ Voice cracked and not broken
Disadvantages:
- Touchpad slippery
