Microsoft Allow ‘Gay’ and ‘lesbian’ Gaming on Xbox Live

Microsoft is now more open to sexual orientation game for users to change their rules out. Xbox Live users are now free to show their identity by using nicknames such as ‘gay‘, ‘straight‘, ‘lesbian‘, ‘bi‘, or ‘transgender‘.

Previously, gamers were subjected to blocking rules even for using the names that show an interest in their sexual sex.

An example is the case in 2008. Quoted from Huffington Post, Tuesday (9/3/2010), Microsoft could block gamer tag someone who called himself the GAYER. Could also be suspended for a gamer in her profile admitted lesbian.

But apparently these cases have been criticized by some parties, one of which is of Gay and Lesbian alliance through a blog.



The protest movement apparently enough to make Microsoft melted. The giant IT company and then loosen their rules and allow gamers who want to show their sexual orientation with the five words above, if not misused.

Similarly, those who want to edit the information on religion, nationality and race in the gamer tag and participate her profile allowed, but for this Microsoft impose some costs.
